Windows 7 - Can't uninstall programs

I could not uninstall AVG due do a virus infection.

AVG is damaged and no way to uninstall trough windows. I quick search the internet and I found this interesting (and free) program: 

Unable to connect to the VM agent. File-level restore will not be available.

My backup with ARCServe is not working properly.

The file-level restore for VMWare backup machines is not working.

The OfficeScan server was unable to reach the update source

Another problem encountered today :-(
"The OfficeScan server was unable to reach the update source. Please verify that the update source is correct."
After a little investigation the problem was easier solved. The firewall blocked the machine HTTP navigation (fast to be discovered: explorer wasn't working :-)
After unblocking the port 80 from the firewall the OfficeScan update engine resume working.

To edit this file you need to run notepad as administrator (right-click on notepad and run it as administrator):

From notepad then open the hosts file.

Whit my post on Quality of Internet connection (http://it-phonehome.blogspot.it/2012/07/how-to-determine-quality-of-your.html) I mentioned some factors that can classify a connection; factors that determine the goodness of your connection.

Also the speed connection has it's value and should not be underestimate, especially if you are using online backup online storage, you like to share pictures or download music, film (legal :-) etc.

Return receipt in Lotus Notes

Till R8.5 when you open e message for which the sender has requested a return receipt there is no way for you to control whether a return receipt is sent or not.
